Thanks for sharing this information bro Amauri Marconi Leal. This is proof positive of the quagmire in which our “so-called leaders” have placed us, by acknowledging the existence of this figment they refer to as an “adjacency zone”.

Note that despite the fact that the injured Guatemalan was in Belizean territory, by virtue of the fact that we have allowed ourselves to be co-opted into this notion of an “adjacency zone” versus that which we truly have…our BORDER, it provides the Guatemalans with a more viable means through which to skew the reality on the ground.

For them to say that the incident occurred in the so-called “adjacency zone” is exponentially more palatable for their unjust cause in the eyes of the international community, as opposed to announcing that the Guatemalan was on our side of the BORDER.

Given that the OAS purports to have frozen the above-mentioned funds, it is a tell-tale sign that the grubby politicians on both sides of the BORDER shall inevitably reassert their efforts to bring the ill-conceived call for the referendum, back to the forefront. After all, we know that its not in their nature to allow “available funds” to be left, uncollected.

Belizeans and true friends of Belize, please remember you are asked to support the Belize, Coalition for Justice (BCJ)’s call to BOYCOTT THE REFERENDUM, ONCE IT IS SCHEDULED FOR A DATE OTHER THAN 6TH OCTOBER 2013.

Bearing in mind Guatemala’s notorious human rights record, coupled with the fact that their current president, Otto Perez-Molina, is a former kaibile, the question “is it far-fetched and misplaced fear to consider this move in a more significant and insidious light?”, was posed.

    My response is…

This is part and parcel of Guatemala’s propaganda game. At this juncture, they can ill-afford any more bad press. Internal matters in Guatemala are at a boiling point. So, as per usual, they feed the international media with stuff like this, in order to diffuse the amount of scrutiny that inevitably should be focused on their internal strife. Therefore, although we MUST keep a watchful eye on all things associated with Guatemala, I do not believe their president is misguided enough to take the risk of a real, international incident along our BORDER.

Another piece of the puzzle to show that the best interest of Belize and Belizeans is not a priority for the OAS and that peaceful negotiations is not a priority for Guatemala.
