Belize launches Caribbean’s latest Internet Exchange Point 1

Originally posted on Caricom The Belize Public Utilities Commission announced that Belize’s first Internet exchange point, named BIXP, was successfully launched in Belize City on April 27 at the campus of the University of Belize. The launch was the culmination of unprecedented collaboration between Belizean Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in the highly competitive local telecommunication sector. The Belize Public Utilities Commission, the national regulator, facilitated the process, with support from regional and international agencies. An Internet exchange point is a piece of physical infrastructure through which ISPs exchange traffic between their networks. Many ISPs in the Caribbean pass the data […]

UnHappy Birthday Belize

I wanted to wait for the festivities to simmer down before I put my thoughts out to my fellow Belizeans. I do not know how you will receive my speech or how it will be scrutinized, but these are my heartfelt convictions. I heard some of the speeches and for the most part heard a lot of pretty flowers, shiny gems and smelt nice perfume that all masked the reality that our nation faces today, 33 years and a couple days old. I won’t go into the pretties too much, you know that is not me. My idea is to […]

They come ready with Vinux a flavor of Ubuntu Linux for Visually Impaired users, we are doing this in an effort to bring the children up to speed with new technologies and to put the school in an OpenSource base where costs are reduced as far as licensing goes and getting hardware in the hands of the children.  Learn more about BCVI here. From the Vinux Site: What is Vinux? Vinux is a Ubuntu derived distribution optimised for […]

Belize was to get an Education Network but?

Back in 2011 there was some movement apparently made to get a Network setup that would improve the Education sector in Belize. Partnered with CKLN, the UB was to hold meetings and plan a road to get us “up to speed” in the technology area that is much-needed in Belize. That was early 2011, and we are now already at mid 2013.  As of today, no one has heard anything about this planned Network setup.  We have made several inquiries, all over and no one seems to know anything about it. What a shame that today, after Belize has incurred […]

HAARP – We can change WEATHER 1

We can change WEATHER – cause Droughts, Floods, Earthquakes & destroy your land – HAARP in action HAARP = High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program WEATHER WEAPONS in action – Nikola TESLA (1856-1943) [the genius who saw so much in his LUCID or precognitive (as in PRECOGNITION) dreams]. US has them [Gakona, Alaska] Russia has them [SURA] but NOT CHINA [China uses primitive cloud seeding with silver iodide crystals]. The clasic “signature” informs us if HAARP has been initiated. Horizontal “rainbows” + look up USGS mapping for evidence of corroboration. Nikola Tesla was a Serbian-American inventor, mechanical engineer, and electrical […]

FBI plans social network map alert mash-up application

The FBI is seeking to develop an early-warning system based on material “scraped” from social networks. It says the application should provide information about possible domestic and global threats superimposed onto maps “using mash-up technology”. The bureau has asked contractors to suggest possible solutions including the estimated cost. Privacy campaigners say they are concerned that the move could have implications for free speech. The FBI’s Strategic Information and Operations Center (SOIC) posted its “Social Media Application” market research request onto the web on 19 January, and it was subsequently flagged up by New Scientist magazine. The document says: “Social media […]

Twitter refines technology to have ability to censor tweets in individual countries

We know this could be a good thing, but like every good thing; there is always the dark side to it and we tend to point those out. This is an awesome tool for Governments that want to manipulate people and do as they please. Government uses it’s power to determine what they think is right and wrong and what is best for you and as such can dictate what you read, listen to and see online. Think Censorship isn’t real or that it isn’t going to happen? Think again! Slowly they are brainwashing and molding our mental capacity to […]
